Every machine consists of many parts which all have to be crafted to fit the application. Specialty components often have to be custom made at lower quantities. Over the years we have designed several thousand custom components for customers as well as our own designs - many of which are machined in house to keep the time from idea to product as short as possible and costs under control. Among the many items which can quickly bring prototyping to a halt are:
The list is endless which is why efficient parts design for prototyping and subsequent volume production is so essential. Apart from in-house processes such as 3D design, CNC machining, 3D printing, winding, curing, coating and various lab testing we have excellent partners which can help with EDM, turning, laser welding, water-jet cutting, bending, punching, aluminium extrusion, die casting and injection moulding. In addition, we can assist with conformity, standards certification and documentation. In the picture above is a fireproof bus bar that can withstand operating temperatures of up to 250ºC for a 5kW motor. |

Our ESP32 mainboard (KS-SBOB-ESP32-R1.1) is designed to seat ESP32-WROOM-32U and ESP32-WROOM-32D 38 pin modules featuring the dual-core version of the Xtensa LX6 microprocessor. It is targeted at functional custom assemblies where modularity and professional features are more important than cost optimization for mass production. This makes them ideal for makers who want to replace generic break-out boards with well protected power inputs and extended GPIO and ADC inputs. At the same time it avoids placing generic peripherals such as relays, LAN or opto-couplers on the board since the later are not always needed and many extension boards exist for exactly this purpose. ESP32 and special IC pins are routed to professional plugable terminal blocks allowing to unplug peripherals without detaching modules and have the following default assignments:

The LDS series of lightning distance sensors for an important addition to any standard weatherstation aimed at public safety. The sensor element made in Austria has been carefully integrated into an RF optimized outdoor IoT device which can detect lighting strikes and their related energies from a storm cell base up to 40km away from your location. This information is fed in real time to local and internet cloud servers and can be used to issue warning notifications via instant messaging services or trigger alarm automations such as warning lights or sirens, automatic closing of windows or garage doors etc.
